EMS 131 - Emergency Medical Technician |
Emergency Medical Technician course using the 2009 curriculum adapted by the Arizona Department of Health Services. This course will help prepare students for the National Registry of EMTs and certification as an AZ EMT. Prerequisites: 18 years of age by the end of the course; BLS/Professional/Healthcare Provider C.P.R. certification (AHA, Red Cross, NHSC, or other as approved by EMS Program Coordinator); RDG 089 or placement beyond prerequisite; Negative TB skin test within 6 months prior to the beginning of class (or chest X-Ray within 2 years); Proof of measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) immunization or positive blood titer; Verification of flu vaccine. These requirements are subject to change at the discretion of Northern Arizona Healthcare. Pre/Co- requisite: FSC 138 for Fire Science students. Eight lecture.
